2011 Stewart Super Six Pack by MBTNJ

Congratulations to Norm and crew for their first racing going so swimmingly. Truly a flawless execution. Bonus for having sandwiches and diet coke delivered to me in the woods!

And here’s Jim, I was all excited to see Jim back on a mountain bike, but he crashed and burned. Check out the blood on his right side. Valiant effort in a return to knobby tires though.

Wow, wet, mud.
The afternoon was a beautiful day though. Great race, despite the mud and water everyone was having a fantastic time.
I got soaked from head to toe getting the pictures on the 2nd lap. Enjoy!
(Note!: As of 6:20am Monday, about 98% of the pictures are uploaded.
100% of prologue is done though
Check back in a few hours for an update)

This time because my wife wanted to meet up with a bunch of her coworkers. Of course I’ll use this opportunity to ride the awesome trails in the surrounding area. Being the cheap bastard that I always am, I packed up my bike in a “luggage” sized box again. This time thought I’m bringing my Trek Fuel EX 69er.
Yes, Trek made this bike, and I seriously doubt anyone has ever seen another one. I LOOOVE the geometry, but the cheapness of this bike is kind of annoying. Wish there was a high end version of this bike.
Anyway, it was a struggle but I did get it in the box. I took the rear triangle and handlebars and put them in my regular carry on for better fit and for weight. Carrying that box sucks so I put everything light and big in it and put the heavy stuff in my carry on that has wheels. I’m surprised that the TSA said nothing about the chain, hydraulic brakes, cable shifters and derailures, and crankshaft with rings.
Here are some pictures of the bike going in the box.

2010 International Rally New York

For the first time in as long as I can remember the weather was actually awesome for Rally New York. We took it easy this time and hung around on Friday at the Rally Village. Just Dave, myself, and my Wife were in our crew.

This time I have a “best of” gallery if you want to just check out the best shots from the weekend. It’s at least one of each car from each stage I was at.

2010 WMBA Chainstretcher at Blue Mountain

This is the closest we have come to rain all year, and it never rained a drop. It’s like Blue Mountain had an umbrella on it all day. It rained everywhere else in the area.

The race course was AWESOME, I rode a few miles of it that morning and after the race. Best race course to date, hands down. Blue is one of my favorite parks to ride at, probably my #1 favorite.

It was Mike Montalbano’s birthday, and he wins the race. He gets my cover shot.

2010 Hilltop Grasshopper Kids Mountain Bike Race

Wow, awesome event!

http://www.hilltopgrasshopper.com/

This was an all kids mountain bike race at Hilltop Reservation in North Caldwell (yes, that IS in Essex County). Great weather, great event, great showing and great race!

I got some awesome pictures I’d like to share with all the kids that raced, they are totally free. Feel free to do with them as you please. The prints ordered off my site are very cheap as well, or just download your full size photo.

The kids are awesome, this is why I love this sport.
