Excellent race by Maddawg and Darkhorse yet again! I’ll update this soon, real job keeping me very busy. Pictures are currently uploading at 9pm on race day, hopefully they are done by midnight. But here is the link to the pictures. Please note that during lap 1 I had some location and technical problems and I missed some riders, during lap 2 I had some serious hardware issues which caused me to miss another batch of riders. Hopefully I got at least one good shot of each rider, but I fear there are riders I missed, my apologies if I did.

Backwards! I haven’t seen the course run backwards since that one race I spectated on a fluke in the 90′s. Awesome day out there for sure. Great job by Marty’s.

Eddy: Super fast and super nice. Single Speed winner!
Beautiful day for a 50 mile suck fest in Wawayanda! Congrats to everyone that finished and to those that tried. Quite an accomplishment. I only took pictures on the 1st lap, but did so in 2 locations. On the 2nd location at some point my lens malfunctioned and while trying to fix it I missed a handful of riders. Too much mud still left over from the Stewart races, and one of the switches was jammed.

There were some riders who got DQ’s for missing a turn. For those that I caught there is a gallery of free pictures for you. Hopefully it makes you feel better, I missed a turn out there too just trying to find my photo spot.
Here’s Woody. He’s completely retarded, as in Single Speed and full rigid.
Congratulations to Norm and crew for their first racing going so swimmingly. Truly a flawless execution. Bonus for having sandwiches and diet coke delivered to me in the woods!

And here’s Jim, I was all excited to see Jim back on a mountain bike, but he crashed and burned. Check out the blood on his right side. Valiant effort in a return to knobby tires though.
Beautiful day, gnarly race course. Who could ask for anything more? The new sections of trails on the race course are awesome, so I chose that for my location. WAY out in the middle of nowhere.

This guy wins for doing the Expert race on a Pugsley
Wow, wet, mud.
The afternoon was a beautiful day though. Great race, despite the mud and water everyone was having a fantastic time.
I got soaked from head to toe getting the pictures on the 2nd lap. Enjoy!
(Note!: As of 6:20am Monday, about 98% of the pictures are uploaded.
100% of prologue is done though
Check back in a few hours for an update)

Cold!
The cold put a hamper on our typical rally antics, so for this rally there will just be the pictures.
In short, Dave and I went up to the rally on Friday morning, and my Wife Maria and my friend Tim joined us on Saturday morning

This time because my wife wanted to meet up with a bunch of her coworkers. Of course I’ll use this opportunity to ride the awesome trails in the surrounding area. Being the cheap bastard that I always am, I packed up my bike in a “luggage” sized box again. This time thought I’m bringing my Trek Fuel EX 69er.
Yes, Trek made this bike, and I seriously doubt anyone has ever seen another one. I LOOOVE the geometry, but the cheapness of this bike is kind of annoying. Wish there was a high end version of this bike.
Anyway, it was a struggle but I did get it in the box. I took the rear triangle and handlebars and put them in my regular carry on for better fit and for weight. Carrying that box sucks so I put everything light and big in it and put the heavy stuff in my carry on that has wheels. I’m surprised that the TSA said nothing about the chain, hydraulic brakes, cable shifters and derailures, and crankshaft with rings.
Here are some pictures of the bike going in the box.

A fantastic close to the season with more beautiful weather.
Joaquin again gets my cover shot, I think Indyfab should give me a free bike for this shot
