International Rally New York 2009 started off for me unlike any other rally I’ll ever attend. I actually got married the previous Sunday and my new wife and I were on a short vacation up in Newport Rhode Island. Thursday night we departed Rhode Island and headed down to rally HQ at the Villa Roma resort where we would conclude our honeymoon.

Not a terrific amount to write up about this event. It was supposed to be a 6 stage rally, consisting of 6 passes on the same road with a service after stage 3. Due to a wreck on stage 1, the event was cancelled. I managed to get a few decent shots of the first half of the field on the first stage but that was about it. The event organizer Ivan was entered in the race and I was excited to be able to give him a small something (my pictures) for all his hard work. Unfortunately he was behind the wreck and I never got a chance to see him.

Everyone at the event was very nice and the situation was handled flawlessly (besides the stuck fire truck).
We did manage to grab pizza at a local pizza place and it was actually really good pizza, and we were many many miles away from New York City
“Membership has its privileges”
That was the thought that ran through my mind while sitting comfortably in the shade, eating a delicious medley of fresh strawberries and dirt as Ken Block drifted less than ten feet from where I was sitting.
The summer of 2009 brings us to the Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally or as it’s better known as, STPR. STPR is the 5th race of the Rally America series held in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania.

“I can’t feel my feet anymore…are you sure this is the SPRING rally?”
That seemed to be the reoccurring question at this year’s Spring Rally New York. Now don’t get me wrong, we at RallyAddict.com are always excited for the Spring Rally NY as it signifies the beginning of a new rally season, however this year turned out to be a cold, damp one.

ahh, rally maine. my favote rally from 2007 and a great showing again for 2008. i went up this year with ryan again, and also joining us was my maria, satanpez steve, shindaddy rich, and philthmonger. we all took off work on thursday and friday and PACKED into steve’s hyundai hatchback and ryan’s mom’s altima. its about an 8 hour drive and we had all day so we tried to take our time, but that proved futile as steve and rich tried to break the speed of sound in vehicles not meant to go past 60mph.
